A balanced, healthy diet has a positive effect on the body at any age. Properly selected menu and some exercise can slow down the adverse changes that often accompany the aging process. Learn the most important rules of healthy eating after 50.

  1. Eat regular meals, every 3-4 hours.
  2. Vegetables and fruits should make up at least half of what you eat.
  3. The daily menu should include whole grain cereals.
  4. Include dairy products in your diet – at least 2 glasses of milk or yogurt, kefir or cheese.
  5. Limit the consumption of meat, especially red and processed meat.
  6. Try to replace animal fats with vegetable ones.
  7. Keep sugar and sweets to a minimum.
  8. Try to limit the use of salt in dishes – you can replace it with herbal spices.
  9. Avoid drinking alcohol.
  10. Drink at least 1.5 liters of water a day.
